Dear Parents and Caregivers:
The week of February 20th Philadelphia is hosting an annual conference of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). (NASP also has a great web-site (http://www.nasponline.org) with tips and resources for parents and professionals.) An excellent thing about this conference is that it brings to our city some outstanding presenters and practitioners willing to share their knowledge and experience.
We are very excited that we were able to capitalize on this occasion and bring some of the facilitators to do a special presentation for our parents and community. The School District of Philadelphia's Parent University will be offering a total of three workshops on:
February 21, 2012 – “Homework Problems and Solutions” (presented by Dr. Peg Dawson)
February 22, 2012 – “Science of Mastering Math: Using Brain-Based Strategies that Work” (presented by Dr. Steven G. Feifer)
February 23, 2012 – “Parenting in 2012: Safeguarding Children and Building Skills for Resilience and Success” (presented by Dr. Scott Poland)
It’s a fantastic opportunity both for parents and community to come and learn new strategies and techniques that can help us better support our kids. The workshops are free and open to the public, so please come - you won’t regret it!
You will find additional information in the flyer attached. Please pass this information on to anyone you know, who might be interested. Also make sure you visit Parent University web-site (http://www.philasd-parentuniversity.org) for other exciting classes, workshops and events.
RSVPs are greatly appreciated.
With gratitude,
Julia
